Scott Thornton

Scott Thornton is a Co-owner/Co-founder of the UG Series Inc.

Scott is a retired professional hockey player who competed in the NHL with six different teams over 18 seasons in addition to representing Canada on three separate occasions.

Scott founded a successful CrossFit gym in Collingwood, ON, (CrossFit Indestri ) where he focused most of this time developing their youth programs.

Scott is a shareholder in the Scandinave Spa in Blue Mountain, ON where he sits on the Board as a Director.

Scott is very involved in charitable work, most notably the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation where he won an the Canadian Volunteer of the Year award in 2013.

With a passion for health and fitness, Scott uses his strong leadership qualities to encourage others to live a healthy and fit lifestyle.

 

Paul Sproule

Paul Sproule is a Co-founder of the UG Series Inc.  

After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2002, Paul has worked for two major tier one organizations (Coca- Cola Enterprise & Mars Canada Inc.) in progressive sales and marketing positions over the past 15 years gaining a wealth of knowledge on corporate business.  

Paul has always been an athlete, who loves to involve himself in a magnitude of sports and challenges.  He has been an active member of Crossfit Indestri & in the community at large since 2011, he continues to challenge himself to improve.

Paul has two children.  His son Lincon 7 and daughter Tatum 3.  His kids are highly involved in sports and the arts which keeps Paul moving.

Jennifer Nichol

Jennifer Nichol is the creator of buzz behind the UG Series.  She has been a part of UG since our inaugural event in 2012 and has led the UG Series Marketing team since 2013.  

Prior to UG Jen spent over 5 years as the Collingwood Run Site, Run Director for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, a role in which she helped to raise over $1 million dollars for CBCF and which led her to many outstanding recognitions including 

2009 New Run Director of the Year & 2011 Outstanding Volunteer Award, awarded by the Ontario Region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. 

In 2009 Jen was also named a Grass Roots Hero by On the Bay Magazine for her work in the community with the Run. 

In 2012 she was nominated by Simcoe Grey MP Dr. Kellie Leitch for the Prime Minister’s Volunteer Award and was bestowed with “the Order of Collingwood” that same year. 

Jen along with her husband, Scott and 2 daughters, Emma & Hannah have been an active members of Crossfit Indestri and the community since 2012, in December of 2015 Jen became a part owner CrossFit Indestri.  

With a love for photography you will typically find Jen with camera in hand capturing images, some of which have been used in media publications.  

Jen was one of the driving forces behind the creation of our Women Strong Weekend, an event in which like minded women come together to empower and inspiring each other through fun and fitness.
